Bob met his wife Adriana Gonzalez, a lifelong resident of Santa Barbara, while stationed in San Diego. Together, they have called Santa Barbara County “home” since 2008. No surprise, as Adriana’s great-grandparents immigrated from Mexico to Carpinteria, establishing significant family roots in Santa Barbara. Serving the country required extensive travel and sacrifice, but now Bob and his family are also proud to call Santa Barbara County their home forever.

As a retired Navy Commander who rose from the enlisted ranks to become a senior commissioned officer, I worked with diverse individuals from various cultural, economic, and social backgrounds across every state and territory. I learned to collaborate with others and developed skills in active listening, following, and leadership. With nearly three decades of honorable service to our country, I’ve built a strong foundation and expertise in working with diverse groups and individuals of varying backgrounds and interests to unify and align behind common objectives. I understand that teamwork, enriched by diverse perspectives, enhances problem-solving. I strive to recognize the merit in everyone’s viewpoint. I’m a problem solver and a proactive leader. I value my ability to build teams and help everyone find common ground.

I aim to achieve this by representing everyone in the 24th Congressional District and holding myself accountable to you. I’m asking for your support in providing the desperately needed and effective bipartisan leadership our nation requires.
